Remember airbrushed jeans, bleachin' your denim

Cut a hole in 'em with the scissors and you rip it

Pair of ???, orange, blue and white

Boxes and gumbies with blond highlights

And my jeans used to be tight before Kanye

Now it's called retro chic, it's all the rage

Skinny jeans are in with the teens

While he's gettin' girls now, I was gettin' teased

The future is cruel that way

Used to be out of style 'til they moved that day

See a trend goes passed, gets so wack

That you cop new threads and the trend grows back

Man, if I could do it again

Everything was so innocent and beautiful then

Being a virgin, feeling up chicks

Getting hit cause you put your hand on her tits

In fifth grade tryin' to act grown

Girls in my class who were stacked like whoa

Seemed old, nothing like these

Talkin like sex, wasn't even 18

Somebody had to be lyin'

We all 12 and they all gettin' more tail than I am

And they all loved to bone so much they were cryin'

It's just wildin'

Days turn to months and the years stretch on

And I can't see the world how I saw it anymore

World moves on, dreams lose form

Thinkin' about advice I ignored that I wouldn't understand 'til years gone

Shoulda listened, time seems so long ago I don't remember them

But ever now and then I'll revisit them

I just don't listen to them

Before I had braids

I walked around school hallways

Brushin' all day, tryin' to get waves

With the white and green low top reeboks

Classics, playing handball on the back lot

Not far from the football field

Where we lost both home and away most games

Kinda ill, I went to a few of 'em

School colors on, girls look cute in 'em

Art class, I would draw and rap

Take a seat by Jeanie, talk and chat

Everyday it's a beeline to sit beside

'Til the teacher made us separate onto either side

She was live, I guess we were close

But high school deep ain't as deep as it goes

But you don't know that, you live in the now

All you wanted then was to blend in the crowd

Chicken wings every lunch and a deck of cards

Bet a book, get a book and check 'em off

Play smith and wesson til my tape popped

Boot Camp had me wanting Timbs and dreadlocks

I left my hair alone but I got the boots

Trade 'em in prom night for pointy shoes

And a suit, and my date looked cute

She wouldn't dance but my prom pic was the truth

It's true
