Intro

I’ma hold the mic while I do it

Spending countless hours listening to this sound I found uplifting

Trying to keep myself from walking down that path that only cowards mention

There’s been so many nights where throwing in that white towel is tempting

Now my frown is flipping, ‘cause I know that He’s looking down and grinning

I feel His warmth every time I stare into one of them starlit skies

But every now and then I swear no one’s got a life as dark as mine

I bottle it all inside ‘til I can express it all through these flawless rhymes

I gave a woman the key to my heart. That’s why I’ve been locked out all this time

Regardless I refuse to quit. Surrender ain’t on my To Do list

I’m used to going through hell. That’s how I continue to give y’all new music

They say it lacks personality. I tried giving my view through scripts

So you can see my true blueprints. Feels like I’ve been cursed by voodoo since

But I’m still straight. God knows best. I follow his lead so I’ve got no stress

And it’s worked so far. I’m so blessed. Keep giving Him praise ‘til my soul rests

And if I have any say in the matter, I’ve got a little while to be stuck on this planet

But tomorrow’s never promised, so I won’t take nothing for granted

Chorus (Haiku/Christina J)

Ku: Can’t help this feeling that I stick out like a sore thumb

Soon as I solve the last problem then two more come

+CJ: I’m on a psychopath. Can’t contain these idle hands

And they say that’s where evil’s born from. I’ll probably die of boredom

Ku: Reach in my wallet, it feels like it’s always short funds

Soon as I think it can’t get worse the thunderstorm comes

+CJ: I’m on a psychopath. Can’t contain these idle hands

And they say that’s where evil’s born from. I stick out like a sore thumb

(Yea) I finally found a song for me. That other s*** sounded wrong

A lot of these rappers are doing and saying some things that used to be frowned upon

I stare at the stars, clinching my fist and attempt to remember the minute it switched

We give them an inch and the instant it fits, they be flipping the script with a flick of the wrist

And I’m sick of this s***, and I don’t think none of these meds healing my dead feeling

I’m thinking ‘bout putting this lead against my head and painting a red ceiling

I’ve gotta escape from these cornballs. The Devil keeps ringing my doorbell while the Lord calls

I’m stuck in the same ménage à trois, four walls

Don’t recognize none of these foreign halls. The whole world’s gone weird

Feeling like I don’t belong here. Wrong place, wrong year

But f*** it. Ain’t scared of you snakes, because the rake’s right next to the John Deere

Instead of impatiently chasing a win, I’m embracing the end as it draws near

Now I’m refusing to bow to these so-called kings the rest of you pawns fear

Continue to grind and deliver them lines that enter your heart like a long spear

When broads hear the songs they be making that face like they tasted a strong beer

And if you don’t feel what I’m saying, you must not be listening to the song clear

[Repeat Chorus]
