Tri-city area: druids, wiccans

Persecuted for personal convictions

Mercilessly they were dealt with

No more sandalwood-scented candles are melted

Anywhere near the public park

Used to be, you would see families throw lawn darts

Several yards away there were sorcerers honoring lunar holidays

From a distance I witnessed these rituals

Eating rye bread, I would toss the residuals

Out to the ducks by the side of the lake

Men and women would execute complex handshakes

Ceremonial robes they wore

Sacred geometry etched in the dirt floor

They would glance at me, I'd acknowledge them

Some were cobblers, some were congressmen

Life was peaceable, styles coalesced

Baseless charged were suddenly pressed

The cops didn't eaves-drop, they walked right up

Flashed their teeth and slapped on handcuffs

True profanity stifles release

Life-inhibiting fantasy deafeningly speaks

Solo saxophones, law-enforcing

Load the earplugs, ride until morning

We're having too much fun

I needed some income, investigated the wanted ads

Haunted house was hiring college grads

Called on a whim, interviewed right away

Interested, didn't need resumes

Saturday was a busy night

Frankenstein mask and a flashlight

Shining on me at ninety degrees

Scaring the customers, on cue, easily

Seasonal work is a reasonable task

As long as they pay you in under-the-table cash

Rationality, shoebox banking

Monocle, top hat

Genteel ranking

In good standing- Barbershop Quartet

Court-ordered distances kept

Particles settled in line-line-line

Child of climate-controlled air mining

[Chorus x3]

We're having, we're having

We're having too much fun
