Solid ground is where we built our home

A safe distance from the town where we started

The landlords back yonder all want us to die

For the trouble we caused before we departed

We killed three young men before thinking it through

To take all their money and the jewels of their wives

We gathered by starlight what was not ours

And fled for the mountains, and abandoned our knives
