Ultimate, you alight

Eternal foreigner in sleep of night

Where lillies lay open

Silent and white

All cardinal points a caliber

Through meadows bright and far

There we prowled on hands and knees

'Neath watchful vibrant morning stars

Offhand, romantic, a brilliant yellow fire you lit

In a threadbare house, sans walls

On a floor of windowpanes

We slow-dance on cracking glass

We sang funeral hymns for yesterdays

Passing flowers mouth-to-mouth

Amaranthene

Mystic spectres, would you exist

Without divides of consciousness?

Drift away, into the sea, calling like a black bell

Cross-chopping onyx waves, you say:

"Come to me, don't refuse the muse of hidden things"

The sea, a water horse wild and tame

Afloat, asweep, with weeds and flowing mane

Far off, the quiet harbour, in the ochre light refrain

Amaranthene past, amaranthene now

And now, dimensions dissolve

To lillies in the sun

Eternal dreamer, the faultless seam

Come undone
