[Chorus: Tony Yayo]

An ode to Bonnie & Clyde, a couple of famous American outlaws/robbers from the Dallas, Texas, area who traveled the central United States with their gang during the Great Depression.

Their life story inspired several movies, novels, and TV shows.

One can infer that Yayo doesn’t believe in monogamy, since there are two women in his life: a main chick and a side chick.

A main chick is the most important woman in a man’s life: his prized possession (sorry, feminists).
A side chick is more or less a jump-off. However, some prefer to distinguish between the two.

By saying that his main bitch is like Bonnie Parker, he’s suggesting that she’s nothing shy of stunning – assuming he’s referring to Faye Dunaway’s potrayal of her (pictured above).

And, by saying that his side bitch is like Clyde Barrow, he’s suggesting that she knows how to use a firearm.

Needless to say, he’s involved with some very intimidating women.

Being “up shit’s creek without a paddle” is an idiom that basically means being fucked. Yayo’s cleverly insinuating that his hoes will put you in a position that would give literal meaning to this expression.

Phew

The act of committing suicide by hanging oneself is a metaphor for cocaine addiction and its consequences. Basically, if you supply a vulnerable person with rope, they will hang themselves without you having to do it yourself. Likewise, supplying addicts with cocaine will “solve” their problem, without you having to worry about it.

Furthermore, he gets his cocaine straight off of a drug boat from a foreign country like Columbia, where standards for cocaine quality are extremely high. He refuses to deal with a middle man when it comes to his drug-related activities.

A reference to two classic movie duos:

Harold and Kumar of the Harold & Kumar trilogy;
Caine and Harold from Menace II Society.

While Harold and Kumar were careless stoners, Caine and his cousin, Harold, were victims of a drive-by shooting. Kidd and the Unit will roll up on you and smoke (fatally shoot) you like the weed Kumar and Harold smoke.

The BMW i8 has integration allowing for highly intelligent operation from a mobile platform.

BMW iRemote acts as an extension for controlling the navigation.

When planning a new route, the system takes into account driving style, topographical conditions, and real time traffic, to provide the most efficient route.

In a large city, like New York, where 50 Cent lives, there is often nowhere to park directly at the point of interest. The iRemote will continue routing, even factoring in public transportation, to guide the owner to the final destination.

The reference to “set-trip” is a boast to 50’s revolutionary technology in his car.

After outlining the different types and quantities of drugs he has for sale in the first 3 bars of this verse, 50 Cent explains how he has a set-up for selling drugs that is so efficient, it resembles the fast-food industry, i.e., you’ll get your weed, coke, dope, or whatever in minutes or less.

Cop is to purchase/receive something, in conjunction with go.

He is essentially saying the following:

“What kind of drug and amount do you want? Once I have fulfilled the needs of your drug order, and a purchase has been made, go or get gone so that unwanted attention isn’t attracted to what I’m doing here and I won’t get busted.”

50’s uncle smells like he’s been smocking crack cocaine, and his thin or frail physique is a sure sign of it as well.

Kidd Kidd will carry out the mob inspired act of kidnapping his enemies children for ransom if they refuse to pay him back for what they owe. If the money isn’t paid, he’ll eventually end their lives and make it look like an accident (collateral).

50 can tell from obvious signs, that his uncle has been involved with cocaine in some way.

The BMW i8 is a new, hybrid sports car that uses an electric battery, as well as a combustion engine, for power. It is estimated to have 76 miles to the gallon, and its price equates to roughly $150,000.

50’s suggesting that his rhymes give off an electric feel, much like the battery of an i8.

He uses a digital scale to weigh his cocaine powder, marijuana and…drugs in general (dope).

Many rappers talk about measuring the mass of their drugs using a triple beam balance (pictured below), but Yayo lets us know that he can adapt to modern-day measuring instruments and prosper in today’s drug business.

To “re-up” means to replenish one’s drug supply. If Yayo’s scale indicates a small quantity of a particular drug, he knows that it’s time to go out and buy more product.

He’s an O.G. What can I say?

The only order that 50 takes is that of crack. All he needs are the ingredients to make his product and he’s good for business.

These are all slang words for drugs:

An 8ball is one eighth of an ounce, or 3.5 grams, of cocaine;
“Oz” is an abbreviation for ounce – refers to an ounce of a drug substance like marijuana;
A “chicken” is a kilogram of cocaine. Dealers started calling kilos “birds,” which then evolved into chicken;
A “key” is a kilogram of any narcotic drug – typically cocaine.

It seems like 50’s still got that hustler’s ambition!

Despite all the crazy things going on in his life, he has still got the drive to make cocaine and sell it. The term “babies” in this line refers to how a baby’s skin is said to be extremely soft, much like cocaine powder.

There is a little bit of irony in this line; things are crazy, yet he is still doing crazy shit (like cooking babies) regardless.

Just the damn truth. If you know, you know.

Gordon Gekko is a fictional character played by Michael Douglas in the 1987 film, Wall Street, and in its 2010 sequel, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.

Geco is also a company that sells guns cartridges.

Gordon Gekko has become a symbol for unrestrained greed, even beyond the world of corporate finance.

As Gekko once famously said:

Greed, for lack of a better term, is good.

In Kidd Kidd’s case, at the rate at which he is spending his money, the only way for him to avoid going bankrupt is to embody Gekko’s greedy mentality and therefore make more than what is physically possible to spend.

Kidd’s been like this from the beginning though, so the fact that he’s willing to do anything for paper should come as no surprise.

Let’s not forget the Geico Insurance reference here as well. Geico’s gecko lizard is their most well known advertising character (Geico sounds like gecko = genius marketing/adversiting). The gecko reminds everyone in each commercial that if you switch to Geico you could save up to 15% on your car insurance with a 15 minute phone call with one of their agents (“save money”).

Further, “You known from the get-go” could be referring to the fact that if people see a or “the” gecko, they automatically connect it to Geico. Again, this is linking “Gekko” (i.e., Gecko lizard/Geico) with “get-go” (sounding like Geico/Gecko). Basically, as soon as you owe Kidd Kidd money, you won’t be forgotten until he’s paid.
