Thousands of people shook his hand
Lookin' for a double that I can see
Walkin' into trouble on Fagen Street
I wanna make bank
I wanna make fallacies
Lookin' for a fool to walk for me
Lookin' for a fool to talk for me
I wanna make bank
I wanna make fallacies
So don't you shift the blame to me
But this is not the promised hand
Lookin' for a double that I can see
Walkin' into trouble on Fagen Street
I wanna makе bank
I wanna make fallacies
Lookin' for a fool to walk for me
Lookin' for a tool to talk for mе
I wanna make bank
I wanna make fallacies
It's a long way down to the ocean
It's a long way down to the sea
It's a long way down to the water
It's a long way down
Lookin' for a double that I can see
Walkin' into trouble on Fagen Street
I wanna make bank
I wanna make fallacies
Lookin' for a fool to walk for me
Lookin' for a fool to talk for me
I wanna make bank
I wanna make fallacies
Rock gets out of the car and begins walking down Fagen St. towards a bundle of lights in the hills ahead.
Rock is singing to his partners in the Free Rock Trio- he hopes they didn’t stick around long enough to be killed by the portal’s collapse. Conversely, if they did escape both the collapse and the authorities, he hopes that they know he was left no choice but to use the portal. He wasn’t trying to abandon them, he was just taking the only option left. This was not the promised outcome of killing his brother, and was not the promised outcome of breaking out of jail. Yet again, now on the other side of the portal, Rock feels as if he was promised something different.
Rock’s walking through the vast desert, clouded by purple skies. The Hills don’t seem to be getting any closer, and Fagen St. seems endless. There are no oceans anywhere in sight, and Rock fears a death by starvation / thirst.
Rock assumes that his old partners in The Free Rock Trio must think poorly of him, for abandoning them in the desert. The “holy book” doesn’t refer to any book in particular, but more or less uses the term to refer to the Blind Men Fellowship as a whole.
Picking up where “…is Dead?” left off, Rock Anderson has just awakened in a 1977 Pontiac Trans Am, crashed in the middle of a vast desert.
