Caught in the avalanche of a fastidious bubble

Of expectations

These zealous endeavors end in a void

To believe in & to hold on longer

These embers shimmer, I'll hold my ground

Every living second stings the bones of my being (bones of my being)

Purposes & shallow frames leave a bitter taste yet pungent

My every aspirations and dreams in dire need of a reality check

My time can't be far from now, dazed to even look alive

And recognize, is this a lie I tell myself? To stay alive

Is it faith? Will to know (sometimes) is just not enough

But I'm standing my ground

Through this dirt pile with exasperated joys

In hope of that better day, just a lil longer

And a desperate fierce need for that beaming light

To guide me home
