[Verse 1]

Portrait painter, I bring colours to your iris

I said it on Many Colours then I digressed

A lot of folks wouldn’t like it when I write this

But you really can’t expect me to leave the blind sightless

We were made to reflect His highness

Instead we reject His light

Yet I bet

If we check behind us

He’s set to take us higher like we’re learning to fly jets

Right? Yes

I just

Bring the heat from the kitchen and

Give it to the people who really need to listen and

Get em filled till they see what they living in

Make em understand that they can’t be indifferent

Yo

Take a stand, make a difference

Everybody sounding the same, it’s so sickening

Ears itching, skins thickening

But all I wanna do is spit truth for your benefit

[Hook]

I know most don’t mind if

They could go on living oh so mindless

But it’s high time we redefine this

Mindset

I must

Open up your iris

[Verse 2]

I hope you open your eyes

If you don’t know where to look, then don’t be surprised

You been fooled by crooks and you don’t realize

Iris

The hook that you took in was only a lie

Chai

Why? I’m sick and tired of being lied to!

They say “You gay so God mustn’t like you”

They say “You better pay your tithe and your offering to my ministry

Or the enemy’s gonna strike you!”

Unlike you, I been looking at the light book

Bring nonsense to my doorstep, I fight you

I can’t chill with this darkness, I light you

Can’t be tied down with these lies now, I find Truth!

You say "Grace", they say "Should we keep sinning?"

You know what? Just upgrade your vision

’Cause if you could possibly earn it, you still wouldn’t

So you better fall back if you preaching legalism!

[Hook]

I know most don’t mind if

They could go on living oh so mindless

But it’s high time we redefine this

Mindset

I must

Open up your iris
