She concentrates on what his heart desires and adapts to it to please him. This could also be a reference to dancing to the sound of his heart.
She has missed someone greatly and is reflecting on the contrast between how she felt in their absence and how she feels now they’ve come back
She used to waste time doing things purely as a distraction; she misses him and doesn’t feel herself when he’s not there
Even though their relationship seems to crash and she’s the one that is usually left hurt and heartbroken: she doesn’t care if she is left damaged at the end of it as long as it’s him whose earning then breaking her heart.
The end heartbreak is worth it for how in love and alive she feels in his presence. Also, she feels after the whole thing, she ends up feeling better within herself – almost as if she’s taking doses of his affection.
This is an intended oxymoron: usually falling from a height would be less desirable than having your feet safely on the ground.
However, in this case it’s also a metaphor:
The ground is somewhere you should feel safe and secure as opposed to the danger of falling.
This suggests the relationship she is in is unstable and doesn’t make her feel safe; however despite this she seems to get a thrill out of falling back in love with him again and even though she knows it’s dangerous her emotions are uncontrollable.
Even though she acknowledges she has some physical control on the situation that is likely going to leave her heartbroken, she views it as a sort of ‘deliberate accident’.
She knows it’s going to hurt her eventually and because of this she doesn’t want her future self blaming her. So, just because he is there her true emotions run wild and she ends up being with him again.
She is regaining her concept of time now she’s spending it with someone she loves
The memory of his lips used to haunt her, perhaps due to his rejection and because of how much she missed him at the thought.
However, now he has come back they make her feel good again because he now desires her like he used to.
