[Verse 1: Emdee Wright]

See I was raised by my parents, was young boy quite observant

Dealing with a few issues that you might think is not important

Reminiscing all these moments, listening to the arguments

Watching my momma suffering cause she was so fucking tolerant

My dad was never home, always working for the fam

Barely sleeping in the house, I’m just trynna understand

Was still a young kid, questioning myself

If I was the reason why my dad wasn’t always here to help

My brother bad choices got us moving from the ghetto

Into a proper neighbourhood you know, just kicking it like Diego

Momma was worried about the bad influence from the hood

Got these white chicks by our side, feeling like tiger woods

Since kindergarten, I was known to be a hot head

Teachers forcing me to take some pills to go to bed

They tried to change me like I was some kinda problem

I guess that’s how they treat you when you started from the bottom

Got in trouble many times, been in couple fights

My mom never knew thank God for all those nights

Had to change city, went to private school

Kept acting like a fool, thinking bullying was kinda cool

But my mind was in a different place, was too weak like 14 days

Moving slow at a cautious pace, and God is who I praise

I adapted to the system, read books for better wisdom

Work hard like the 04 pistons, made sure I stayed consistent

[Verse 2: Emdee Wright]

I’m a changed man, new perspective of being humble

All these troubles in my brain, feels like my life about to crumble

This shit is a jungle, but you can’t knock the hustle

Of mumble rappers trynna fight for the spot like royal rumble

Plus I just seen my homie fumble, life can be a struggle

He gave up on true love after swiping on bumble

He loved this girl from turkey, no wonder why he’s stumbled

Quite pitiful how the world can sometimes be so awful

Music was the only way for me to say what I’m feeling

My eyes red, tears falling down, my hearts bleeding

Coughing, and now I’m barely living

Hoping to see my fam happy like it’s thanksgiving

Haters trynna bring me down like a high blood pressure

Tell your bitch I’m over here, like a hairdresser

I’m getting older, my mom is getting sicker

One thing for sure she’s definitely not a quitter

So i went to LA, about a year later

A&Rs and producers, acting like a bunch of traitors

Promising you things like pay me we would get you a deal

Until you notice they steal your money just to get a new meal

Ask my Nigga Roshique, he would tell you the same

We kept it young and fabulous, it was just part of the game

Most labels don’t really have your best interest in mine

Unless the interest includes a percentage sign

[Verse 3: Emdee Wright]

Shit, just learned my dad cheated on my mom

And I’m there looking at them trynna stay calm

I raised my voice felt like I had no choice

Telling myself I can’t agree with this

So I start insulting pop like I’m dissing popular music

And here’s just here trynna flip the script

Saying nah it wasn’t like that, explaining the real fact

That he didn’t mean to have a kid back

He argued about the condom broke

Fuck you mean the condom broke, pop is that a joke

You just admitted cheating on your wife

Now her heart cut in pieces with a knife

How the fuck you looking all confused like what is life?

But you were overseas busting a nut like it was right

I must say, don’t understand this shit and i can’t stand this shit

Lying for 16 years saying you didn’t plan this shit

My dad’s a good man, but he made some mistakes

Took a man’s wife for one night, call that a miss take

He was in love with money, in love with the cake

Literally lost everything, to gamble was his escape

Nothing was the same, got me feeling like drake

And here’s out here trynna explain why people fornicate

Seeing my mom crying how am i supposed to feel

Knowing i got a sister in town, man this shit’s unreal

Damn...can’t believe I got a sister
