Basement Bounce

[VERSE 1]

This is how I sound dog, pound paw

Illest Cool Whip hitter, no whippets, no mister

Just a sweet tooth to speak truth, and say a bunch of "um"'s

With the right amount of cognizance to analyze it all

This is my basement bounce, face the couch, crashing

Treasure cove of memories, erase a couple, set em' free

Swig it like your poppy do, hiccup juice for obstacles

Make it president, I'd vote for it to have a pocket full

Baby stubbed it's toe, metaphorically in flow

The carpet's feeling soggy and the walls and ceiling drone

A cage inside a cage with a roof, all in an ant hill

And the water seems to stand still

The telescope can't even zoom to here

All I care about it ending parties and getting these rooms clear

So a solo specimen frozen under the microscope

Has a million mindless notes saying 'try to find some hope'

[HOOK x2]

This is my basement bounce

Shouts to the other fuckers cooped up like me

Basement Bounce

Living in a crypt, where you can't hear thunder or nice things

[Verse 2]

It's hot as hell, I'm not a shell, I swear I am a human here

Sad as Dustin Hoffman, floppin in his retro scuba gear

New-ish year, I'll prove it, scared, crumpled in a ball balling

A slow hello, Long Goodbye, bigger cast than Rob Altman

Every ghost I clink my half empty glass with

Is the same sad sack I relax and I can laugh with

"That's rich" ... then what's poor?

My vacancy of mind smiles and bile that churns fresh sick?

No. I haven't vomited in ten years plus

I haven't felt the urge to get well and live outside a crutch

Dust off the shut up, sew and thread the new button

I heard the piston say go, it's time for you to move something
