Blue sky white cloud
The sun is blinding me today
I am hiding in the shade
Covering my face
With my forearm
Warmly bent
I have spent an hour
A day here
Waiting for the bugs to play
Their song for me
Leg strings
Chirping melodies
They sing
And I listen
To the sound of real things
The shifting morning breeze
I lift with my wings
Look up
Everything is green
Curled claws long tail
I’m becoming me today
Grow into bright scales
I sing
And they listen
To the sound of real things
