This is a reference to Freddy Krueger, who is known for killing his victims in their dreams, causing their death in the real world as well.
It should be ‘'We got the bass-drum kick that will blow out your ears’‘ because that makes more sense. Loud sounds can damage your hearing, but there’s no way that it could actually harm your eyes. But because David Draiman is rapping, he wanted a word that kind of rhymed with ’‘surprised.’'
It would have been cool if the song had been ‘'Droppin’ Blades'‘, but that wouldn’t have made sense for the type of story Disturbed wanted to tell. This is the story of their rise to fame and a middle finger to all of the people that doubted them.
Since Disturbed is a hard rock and heavy metal band, their music is probably too aggressive for the average person. On top of that, the band is from Chicago, a city that doesn’t have a big heavy metal scene, so this made it even harder for them to achieve mainstream success.
‘'Your ass’‘ is an insulting way of referring to someone. ’‘Droppin’ plates'‘ means taunting with gold records. Draiman is saying that his music will be praised by critics and he’ll prove all of the haters wrong.
David Draiman is trying to be a hype man, which makes sense because this song is heavily influenced by hip hop. This song, especially the intro, reminds me of Limp Bizkit.
