Irrational pursuit

Tenaciously paced haste

Others scoff at frivolity

But what compels the chase? (In me)

Repeatedly defeated

Yet relentlessly inspired

Persistence and consistence

Not friction, but a fire

Go, run

So goes

The goal hunt

But know, though

If you hold it close

And controlled

You implode

And I’ve chased myself down

Ragged rabbit race run

This endless orbit quest

Stressful anxious madness

But - finally! Taste success

Defined my many lives

The chase was my identity

But when I thought I caught it

I’d wasted what was left of me

Go, run

So goes

The goal hunt

But know, though

If you hold it close

And controlled

You implode
