I'll take the southbound train

To glorious Manhattan

And in the midst of the rain

Dear god, I'll fall out of fashion

And my mom's telling me

That you're bad for my health

And I know I should listen but

I don't want nobody else

So I'm crying in a new place

Reading books about cloudy skies

And the rain's getting worse now

Oh I wish I could just die

I'm taking home all the backroads

On the chance I could get lost

So that I'd have to ask for help

And maybe break down in their arms

Then I'd tell them bout the good days

Getting high and making out

And then hiding from our old friends

'cause you weren't ready to be out

So I'll stand out on the train tracks

Hoping that the lights get closer

And I'll hold you in my heart then

Wishing that it'd all be over
