[Intro]

Jesus and his followers are in the world

Don't take 'em out

The world will perish they are salt they are light keep 'em there

With all its mess and all its confusion keep 'em there

But don't let them be of the world

[Verse 1]

They wanted

Me to get in a frame

Four corners all the same

If i never let go of that mode then it's all in vain

Second grade

A reckless slave

Every day

Swept away and hopin' people's love would never change

Tried to please everyone but God, yeah I put up cards

But inside I was dyin' findin' out life is hard

I remember I cried until my nose was raw

My mom was strung out on that alcohol she won't recall

When they told me to tell her bye outside the hospital

My life was outta control

What have I got into

I know my dad got high had me lookin low

This hurt had me in the dirt and this garden wouldn't grow

They said

I would do the same

[?] a needle running through my veins

[?] my fingertips would just leave me stripped of everything

And the progression was so hectic

How'd I go from eight years old to so messed up

With no method to make me whole [?]

Sixteen when my hurt was playin' hide 'n seek when it turned to anger

Left home with my chest froze

Heart cold but I burned with hatred

Learned to layer my dirty nature

Hide my hurt from a perfect stranger

Bankrupt in my faith but

I was overflowin' with [?]

It's hard to sleep

Layin in the bed [?]

Collectin' all my strength [?]

Tears on my cheek was like robbery strippin all of me of my pride

I was destined for depression

He wrote about emotions yeah

Just left out in this desert slowly coastin' wheel was broken

Statistics told a dreadful tale

The odds were far from even

Convinced that every step I fell and fall down even deeper

My story isn't fair I swear

'Cause it's full of grace

You hearin' me on this record thia proves that I escaped

God's promise is true

It's refusin' to be [?] redemption for those who choose to live our faith

I was seventeen I saw the ways of christ

Lived out every day and night

'Cause family took in this crooked kid

And paved the way [?] faith

And I confessed that God had rested dressed himself in human flesh

And was abused and death consumed dead upon that crucifix

Resurrected to free me and take my fake ID

Said "don't be like them you were made to be like me"

He saved me from conformity and saved me from the pressure

And showed me that your past doesn't make you any lesser

For every convicted felon with a record cast in shadows

Just understand the way that God sees you is supernatural

For every abused youth please don't be slain by the silence

All the pain and the violence can change the day into quiet

So be different embrace it

The shame of Christ just face it

And a life spent on chasin' God is a life that'll never be wasted

So be different embrace it

The shame of Christ just face it

And a life spent on chasin' God is a life that'll never be wasted

[Outro]

Adaptation and confrontation

Participation, separation

In the world, not of the world

Do not be conformed

I have become all things to all man

Be indigenous, be a pilgrim
