[Intro]

A universe shift

Where the universe shift

And our world split

All right, check it out

Yo, yeah, yeh, yeh, yeh

[Verse 1]

When the 2020 hit, and the pandemic kicked in

I went through six jobs packing, two apprenticeships in

My middle age is beckoning, I head there in an instance

Raising three kids in a home with a pregnant missus

And I was tryna brainstorm how I could raise more

When state laws had our doors shut with stage four

I’m job seeking, and I’m thinking of a game plan

When I can’t even see family or even shake hands

Now, Doctor’s calling and they’re tripping on a brain scan…

The high potentiality of tumours and disease

In my unborn's brain left me suitably uneased

And the future's looking bleak, as a season disappears

With media just spamming what’s appealing to our fears

Beefing with our family and screaming at our peers

'Cause the world had split apart, and the reason isn’t clear

[Chorus]

My universe born, that’s parallel with you in it gone

A foreign plane which I exist is my usual norm

Eye of the storm with the lightning and the rain hailing down

Stranded with my head in the clouds

My universe born, that’s parallel with you in it gone

A foreign plane which I exist is my usual norm

Eye of the storm with the lightning and the rain hailing down

Stranded with my head in the clouds (Yo)

[Verse 2]

Nothing’s black or white, the world’s coloured grey

And my country stays in droughts, flooded or up in flames

I turn my phone off from the comments of what others say

And my soul died when George cried out his mother's name

Yeah, tryna keep back the stress

When my Dad called me up, said he relapsed again

Lost a licence and a job, took a turn for the worse

But my thought’s were submerged with concerns for a birth

And mentally I’m drained, with a pregnancy at bay

When I shoulda been excited 'bout it’s gender or the name

And I’m back to heavy drinking just to get me through the day

'Cause the pressures from a child and a parent feel the same, yo

With each turn of the Earth brings more turbulence

A universe of irreversible permanence

I’m just praying that my baby is okay

And it makes it here safely to the world I’m in

[Chorus]

My universe born, that’s parallel with you in it gone

A foreign plane which I exist is my usual norm

Eye of the storm with the lightning and the rain hailing down

[Verse 3]

Yo, yeah, yeah, yo

As time ticks, we just sit round and dwell

Inside our house like we’re prisoners in cells

All the things that I felt, well, they instantly melt

When my first daughter was born and she’s in perfect health

Yo, I can’t explain my shock

That she made to the world I’m in against those odds

So I went to start a business like she lifted up my fortune

But my Dad passed away on the day I tried to launch it

And I talked to him the day before, had me buggin'

He told me he would bounce back, I told him that I loved him

I couldn’t comprehend it at the time, or be aware

That the words that I just said would be the last we’d ever share

And it’s feeling like a dream, surreal and bittersweet

That my daughter and my father in this world'll never meet

And as deeply as it’s wounded me, I’m feeling like it’s cauterised

Seeing Dad immortalised, staring in my daughter’s eyes

Before the rise and the fall of our souls from birth

We are spirits made of dust that revolve with earth

One lives and one dies in this multiverse

And it coulda been the roles reversed

[Scratches: DJ 2Buck]

"I know you hurt as the world turn"

"In this world decay"

"My factor's bright, I just bless the mic"

"Mine's in another world"

"Nah'mean?"

"Checking our life is like the sphinx: mysterious

[?] flash like lightning"
