After Devon’s man was caught cheating, he continued to make empty promises in an attempt to apologize for what he did. In an attempt to deny it, he tries to assure her that she is the only one for him. This his heavily displayed in Devon’s track with her on-again-off-again boyfriend bay area rapper G-Eazy. Their track titled “Acting Up” is about a man who continues to make mistakes, and a woman who is had her ends and is contemplating ending it.
The man continue to ask for second chances hoping to prove himself. He claims that he will be the glue and force that will get them through hard times even though he is often the one causing the problems.
Pretty straight forward. Devon is simply not wanting to put up with his empty promises, and his actions.
Devon is now giving him a taste of his own medicine in an attempt to show him what he did to her. When he was out late messing around, it broke her heart. She wants him to feel how she felt on though lonely nights since all other methods have failed.
He’s probably regretting cheating on Devon. He always relied on her for something and now he doesn’t know what to do without her around
While Devon has always been focused and devoted to this relationship, she does not receive the same. Devon caught her man with another woman. In her book, this was a lower point than if he had come forth and told her about the cheating. Instead, Devon caught her man in action and it hit her even harder.
This was the turning point in the track and in the relationship where Devon realized she needed to make some changes in her life.
The man has hurt Devon so many times and karma strikes back when she goes out and have the time of her life. Hence, the man is feeling the same as how she was when he did so.
Devon has realized how much time she has wasted on a relationship that she knew wasn’t going to work out. From the early stages, Devon realized how unhealthy this was going to be if she continued to date him. Devon asks if he knew about the pain and anger that he put her through throughout the years in hopes that he would realize his mistakes before it destroyed her. Now that Devon has become more independent, she realizes that it was childish of her to wait this long for him.

Devon is officially done with all of the childish games and mistakes that her boyfriend made in their relationship. It’s time that she stood up for herself and take action for herself by cutting out all off the negative things that are holding her back from being who she wants to be. Step one: breaking off this unhealthy relationship.
