According to Joe Elliott, this line was thought up by producer Robert John Lange. It was inspired by, or at least knowingly similar to, one from another “Photograph,” Ringo Starr’s from a decade before this.

Joe is so in love with this woman that he’s seeing her everywhere, even in place of other women in magazines.

Over the years, these lyrics have probably added to the popular misconception that this song is a tribute to Marilyn Monroe. If that was the case, which Joe Elliott heavily denies, it would make sense to see her all over the magazines: she’s famous, she really would be in them.

She’s gone straight to both his mental space and his head between his legs 👀 signifying the sexual tension between them and how much he is longing to be with her.
