He thought he could trust her, that she was being open and vulnerable with him like he was with her, but he’s realizing she was lying the whole time.
Jon uses a play on the old English proverb, “You can’t have your cake and eat it too”, meaning you can’t enjoy both of two desirable but mutually exclusive alternatives.
The situation is being compared to telling a lie, but not embodying it fully, making it unbelievable. If you want to get away with lying, you can’t just tell the lie, you need to play along with it.
Tillian’s ex is never gonna make him be petty like she is. Someone who’s always keeping score of things people did right or wrong. Because of the heartbreak he’s too cold and closed off to care about stuff like that anymore
Action Figures and many toys, dolls and other such things with faces are made from plastic and as such their faces never change, they’re always one dimensional and show no other feelings other than what was put there in the first place, on top of that they can’t feel emotions or any feelings because they’re plastic so in that way they’re also numb.
He is objecting all of that and saying he will feel and have opinions and allow himself to be more human. Also, they won’t allow anyone else to change them or force them to become that way.
