Crooks and Castles is an American brand which was found in Los Angeles, by two individuals who were crooks (hustlers, gang members, etc…) themselves.
The concept of the brandname is the transformation and difference between the crooks (hustlers) and castles (rich people, especially those who became rich by hustling).
Cozz goes onto wordplay with the brandname; as he can’t afford Crooks and Castles, he’s going to rob you just like a crook, to deprive you from your dreams.
Los Angeles is considered as the gang capital of America. Despite a dramatic decrease in crime over the last decade, it’s still considered as one of the most dangerous city in America.
One of the most notorious gang rivalry in American gang culture is Bloods (which are associated with red) and Crips (which are associated with blue), of which both were found in Los Angeles.
Gang culture doesn’t stop at colors though, the terminology used by gangs is often different, for example “Suwoo” is used by Bloods, meanwhile the Crisps often use “Cuhz”.
