It's one part of an empty place

Like a crater in

The middle of nothingness

While we labor in fantasy

Dragging out the pace of it

There's a portrait to make

Brushes learn how to follow lines of a hand with no trace

Of a pulse or even a sign that a life is in place

What do we do after a photo? We flash and erase

Had to fast for my appetite, what a sordid mistake

I just want to gift you a smile in the future we make

It's prediction at fault, for the flaw in my face

But I never could fix it, no I never could fix

It's the mark of another grade

Think we're lessonless

We make our way back again

While we labor in ignorance

Dragged down

By the weight of it

It's some room we prepare

If the window is open then I can finally breathe

If I eat when I'm by myself then I don't have to share

Matter fact If I'm keeping count I think that's what I need
