All this time I've spent wasted

Running around and chasing

Medicine to help me and mine to forget

And all our dying days

Dissolve and melt away

So we keep on living 'til the end

Get to working long hours

The list of deeds can devour

Spend your time chasing dividends

But I damn sure did today

Pick you a pink rose bouquet

Got it sitting right here on the porch

Petals sitting in the sun

Slowly coming undone

The way I do when you walk through my door

Chasing euphoria

I stumbled right into you

Hunting anything to get me by

Canadian or Pendleton

Either one will do me in

Pull up the stool and catch the show for the night

Long hand shakes and cigarettes

All your features I couldn't forget

Had me lying awake all through the night

But I damn sure did today

Pick you a wildflower bouquet

Got it sitting right here at your door

Petals passing my hands by

You're a sight for sore eyes

This bed sure beats the hardwood floors

Sometimes I think of

All the things

I've seen all around

Think of all the times that's

Escaped my mind

From chasing medicine in all those towns

But I damn sure did today

Pick you a pink rose bouquet

Copper wire keeper and dethorned

Petals passing porch rails by

Spinning like you hypnotize

My when you walk through my front door
