She was born into a family

Where the gods just flip a coin

Out learning to fend for herself

While her brother was doing time

Got a tattoo on her wrist

Just some words that her daddy’d say

‘There’s a story to be written’

Such a pity he drank his away

Here’s my face

Ripping through a crowd of endless heartache

I will make it

Even if takes some time

Here’s my face

Filling up the sky like a desert starlight

I will make it

Even if it takes some time

Cut her teeth in all those movies

She played out in her dreams

The ones where she’s just killing it

And she’s nobody’s queen

It’s far from burning coffee

Scraping tips in late-night bars

Donna tells her "darling, one day

You’re gonna be my Hollywood star"

Here’s my face

Ripping through a crowd of endless heartache

I will make it

Even if takes some time

Here’s my face

Filling up the sky like a desert starlight

I will make it

Even if it takes some time

Sometimes she feels frozen in the flight of the trapeze

No cradle there to catch her

There was never really need

She takes a breath

Draws it in

This moment may not come again

Steps into the cold dark night

To find her stage there up in lights

Here’s my face

Ripping through a crowd of endless heartache

I will make it

Even if takes some time

Here’s my face

Filling up the sky like a desert starlight

I will make it

Even if it takes some time

Here’s my face

Ripping through a crowd of endless heartache

I will make it

Even if takes some time

Here’s my face

Filling up the sky like a desert starlight

I will make it

Even if it takes some time

Here’s my face

Here’s my face

C’mon!
