Discovery is a nightclub in Darwin where I always find myself finding myself on the dance floor as I sip my $4 vodka and lemonade with the wristband I received at the entrance for being a bloody legend. No night is complete without a drunken walk towards the kebab shop for a late night/early morning bite. Discover me.
I wanted this song to be a real anthem for Northern Territorians, the line ‘first class, one crown for the MVP’ is used to describe the residents of the Northern Territory with high prestigiousness.
Paul’s Iced coffee is one of the best Iced coffee in the Northern Territory! Just ask one of the locals! What better thing to do than to fish and drink a coffee or two of Paul’s Iced Coffee!
(Side Note: I wrote this line in hopes of getting a lifetime supply of Paul’s Iced Coffee)
Although the entirety of the song is to signify the Northern Territory as a whole, the first verse is more aimed at Darwin, Northern Territory, showcasing my love for the city and it’s atmosphere.
In the Northern Territory there is generally only 2 seasons of weather, either dry season or wet season. Around November is when the wet season occurs (though this isn’t always accurate). The humidity increases while the rain and storm slowly builds up.

I originally had a bridge where I sang the words “it’s. ah. brand. new. day, to. make. some. changes.” Me and the studio engineer decided that the bridge was weak because there was no lyrical correlation between the bridge and the rest of the song. The ‘I’m from the NT’ bridge was a last minute freestyle of ideas for a better bridge. It turned out good.
Nothing can beat the sunrise of Darwin, Northern Territory – the radiant rays and colours of orange, yellow and red descends from the skies.
‘The Cage of Death’ is an activity for any tourist and Territorian to pursue. I personally haven’t done it myself but it’s definitely on my bucket list once I get the paid. It’s all good baby baby.
‘You’ll Never Never Know, If You Never Never Go’ is a 1994 tourism commercial promoting the Northern Territory.
Cyclone Tracy was a tropical cyclone that left Darwin in devastation on Christmas Eve 1974. From the photographic images that I see at the Museum and Art Gallery Northern Territory, Cyclone Tracy left nothing but destroyed homes and rubbles. I’ve heard stories that many residents of Darwin evacuated – and many did not come back. My condolence continues to go out to the victims of Cyclone Tracy.

The Ghan is a train that travels between Darwin, Alice Springs and Adelaide. I’m pretty sure it only takes the trip once a week. I personally have yet to take a trip on The Ghan.
The Red Centre:
‘Up Top’ is slang for the shops up in Palmerston, Northern Territory; evidently by the Palmerston bus depot.
Me and my mates would often go to Litchfield National Park and head towards Florence Falls, which we would climb up a bunch of rocks and jump off from the wall into the water. My Sanctum Sanctorum of Solitude. A must see for any tourist and an amazing spot for a snag and a swim. Complete bliss.

The NT News is a major newspaper publication in the Northern Territory (or more specifically, in Darwin). Fun fact: I was once on a poster for Australia day in circa 2013 for the Sunday newspaper.
Great debates have been waged by fellow Territorians regarding the best Laksa in Darwin. My personal favourite is the Laksa from the markets.
I didn’t actually meet this woman per se, I met a person who claimed she could go toe to toe with a couple of crocodiles – ya’ll remember this though right?
I find (when conversing with the tourists I see in Darwin City) that the most popular trip for exploring the Northern Territory is to Start in Darwin, and travel towards The Red Centre (Darwin to Katherine to Alice Springs).
‘Sweetheart’ is a play on words with the iconic crocodile by the same name; which relates to the previous line. He is residing in the Museum and Art Gallery Northern Territory. Respect the legendary legacy.
