Mutilated bodies lie along the tracks, once screaming for their death

Knives plunged in backs, on the revolving wheels they bled

Houses set aflame, torches illuminate the Stygian night

Steel terminates the young and the children die with open eyes

Segregation and religious violence building to this hell

Believed the lies of the oppressor, buying what they sell

Raped, naked, murdered women taken to procession, paraded in the streets

Neighbors butchered for the one true “god,” extirpated in the blazing heat

Raped women

Blood rain

Scorched skin

Eternal pain

Senseless violence

Everlasting scars

A piercing silence

Death march

No rules, no mercy in indiscriminate yet discriminate killing

Slaughtering all who stand in the way of this ethnic cleansing

Brother murder brother in a body count seemingly without end

Defeat the mind and the body falls, then manducate the head

Killers waiting at train stations, anticipating callous butchery

Cadavers lacerated, throats slashed, a demented and homicidal surgery

Massacre! Massacre! Deluded by division

A separated homeland, the province’s incision

Raped women

Blood rain

Scorched skin

Eternal pain

Senseless violence

Everlasting scars

A piercing silence

Death march

The mute cries finally decay, but never truly evanesce

Alive in the memory of the few who suffered and hidden from all else

Hate permeates perpetually, yet the murderers were but puppets

As the house divides further the perpetrator goes unpunished

…goes unpunished…

…death march
