She would fly out through the window

Up over the greasy morning

In backed-up traffic

Dreaming of swimming pools and sun-tanned cabana boys

It was like her to drive wildly

Around the stone pillows

Of her own private ruins

To skin suppliers and face builders

At modern-day pyramids

With their X-ray machine shops

And other times she would just wake up

And not know where she was
