Chorus:

His scepter is uprightness

In the face of injustice, we know that He is righteous

He been showing us what right is

So we’re following the Way on the path to where life is

We’re following the Shepherd, and uprightness is His scepter

Yeah, we’re following the Shepherd and uprightness is His scepter, yeah

Verse 1:

It’s like we in the Garden and the snakе’s walking

Slithering in his craftiness got snakes talkin'

Thе minds of our people are set on evil all day

All scroll, entertained, all play, always

It’s like the days of Noah, wickedness is great

Every intention seems to be tempting us to walk away

It’s like we’re in the days of judges, I won’t lie

'Cause people do whatever seems right in their own eyes

We’re like the people who followed God but saw the nations

And started begging for a king to their condemnation

Then they got Saul, moved on, got David

Solomon got carried away because he chased ladies

Not long after, the nation split, a heinous mess

Most kings were wicked and a few walked in blamelessness

Then there was violence, exile, and silence

For 400 years, 'til arrival of Messiah

[Chorus]

Verse 2:

Jesus is the prophesied son of God and Seed of Eve

Righteous Branch faced the serpent face-to-face but not deceived

He grew in wisdom, didn’t need to get a PhD

The Pharisees played D against Him, but He never missed a three

He kept the whole Law of Moses and never missed a beat

Like undercover boss He was in charge, but He hit the streets

He’s the epitome of discipline

While elders and scribes were out here dissin' Him, He was fishin' fishermen

He preached the kingdom to all the people who listened in

His preaching was much different

Than wicked spins of crooked men who came as false witnesses

Who preached the letter of the law but He saw that they weren’t living it

He never buddied up with Caesar or Pilate

He knew the hearts of men and knew that they would come with violence

He also knew that fellowship couldn't coexist

Between the wicked rulers and the kingdom of uprightness

[Chorus]

Verse 3:

The King came to die; let that set in

But they couldn’t take His life unless He let them

Then He took it back, 'cause there ain’t no weapon

That could prosper against the resurrection

Now His throne is forever ever, forever ever

And the kings of this earth, they will never ever

Get on His level, nope, there’s never better

'Cause His scepter of righteousness, man can never sever

At His second coming, every saint will be raised

It’s by grace, and not because we lived good and behaved

Then the end comes, we won’t focus on incomes

Abolishing every government, rebel kings will see graves

Then He reigns, until they meet the soles of His feet

Everything is under Him, and His rule is complete

When everything is subject, except the Son

He’ll be subject to the Father, as the humble one

Then the three-in-one God will be all in all

To our knees we’ll fall, we’ll be all in awe

'Til He comes back, we bow to His majesty

His scepter is upright, we submit to Christ happily
