We don’t need help to welcome the dark

The darkness knows right where to find us

The sun may be hung at the top of its arc

But our shadows are streaming behind us

And if it’s a curse

We all learn how to move through the dark

We follow the infrared glow

Of warm-blooded ghosts that have stolen our hearts

And show us which way we should go

To look on the bright side

It can be hard to see in the dark

But we can sit still and be patient

Our vision adapts as we practice the arts

Of music and echolocation
