Someone Else

So it was something that I said

That got stuck inside your head

And made you crawl into my bed

And now you need me

And now you don't

But I still smell you on my skin

How many nights now has it been

Won't you come find me

I can't just hold you when I want you

And I want you now all the time

And you won't love me like you ought to

Because you belong to someone else

So you talk about the stars

And serendipity is ours

But we won't let it go too far

Because there are boundaries sometimes

So I'm caught between the two sweet despair

And hope renewed

Say it ain't profound babe

I can't just hold you when I want you

And I want you now all the time

And you won't love me like you ought to

Because you belong to someone else

You took this photograph of me

And in my eyes it's clear to see the way I'm smiling

What's in my mind

See I can't keep it locked away

Let the pen oblige the page

Won't you write me

I can't just hold you when I want you

And I want you now all the time

And you won't love me like you ought to

But sometimes you want to

Because you belong to someone else
