I filled my room with pretty things

And I planted a garden

I drink red wine on my front steps

I always wanted to be the kinda girl they regard as a woman

But I’m the only person who can say I am

I looked myself in the mirror

And I said, “You’re the only one who gets to judge me.”

I stopped being my worst enemy

And I filled my room with pretty things

With rainbows and crystals and plants

And stained glass on the windows

I filled my fucking bookshelves

With things I wanna read

I make time for dinner

And I never miss a sunset

I’m not attached to anything

That takеs me away from me

Therе’s a boy next door who strikes me as extraordinary

He’s growing weed in the parking lot

One summer night

He and his roommates were looking for the comet

And we crossed paths on the rooftop

I asked him for his name

Instead of saying, “I think we were meant to be something.”

‘Cause I’m the best that I’ve ever been

And I’ll fill your life with pretty things

With rainbows and crystals and plants

And stained glass on the windows

I filled my fucking bookshelves

With things I wanna read

I make time for dinner

And I never miss a sunset

I’m not attached to anything

That takes me away from me

If you wanna be

Cherished like a recipe

That your grandma gave to you

And told you to keep secret

You gotta be your favorite pretty thing

That you bought at the store

And you never stopped loving

I said to myself I wouldn’t love again

Until I was whole again

I chose myself and now I’m surrounded

By a bunch of pretty things

With rainbows and crystals and plants

And stained glass on the windows

I filled my fucking bookshelves

With things I wanna read

I make time for dinner

And I never miss a sunset

I’m not attached to anything

That takes me away from me
