Welcome to the world the fake reality in CG

When no one is aware and all scared of speaking freely

They use the same cloth to brainwash us and its easy

To make you believe anything they put it on your TV

And everybody watches it like they ain't got no choice

Remembering the days when kids was playing with they toys

From the pain of blisters to the nappy braids on my sister

Can’t remember scripture but can paint a picture til its 3D

B. Keyz, hungry for the life of living easy

So let me give the world a taste of what its like to be me

I came from the Brook and nowadays I'm overbooked

After 27 years of overlooking like they proof read

They use to never wanna listen and now they be like "who he?"

And everybody think they know you cuz they heard your CD

Love me or you hate me you a fan either way

Let me explain how I became the man you see today

High school was the worst my popularity was knee deep

I walked around that bitch feelin' like nobody could see me

And not cuz i was nice a nigga felt like he was invisible

To all the student body the whole staff and the principle

Never got the girls the only looks were from the creatures

I never made the team, watched the games from the bleachers

I aim for the stars if I can see em I can reach em

For my first piece of ass I tried to smash my math teacher

I bet she woulda did it if my civic was DeLorean

And that’s what i would call being a valedictorian

I knew a couple kids who lived the honor roll and passed it

They roam the halls for hours can't remember where there class is

All white school with black girls were the fastest

Name plate and necklaces and tats above they asses

Dudes was doing dip they bottom lip was looking tragic

Every week was fashion week the clashing of the fabrics

As is, I mastered the tactics to get to the finish line

I coulda did backflips if it wasn't for no friend of mine (I wasn't no dapshit?)

Just me and my homies reaching our goals with no hat tricks

Gotta make sure the cat fit

Four long years now here we are

Walking up to the stage have me feeling like I'm a star

They call my name I grab my diploma baton and strolled off and drove off and left it on top of the car, damn

So what's my next move I gotta plan it out

I need to find a way to get up out my grandma house

Besides I really wasn't all that popular

And I'm tired of fitting in I need to stand out

Maybe ill go to school and do this music shit

Let these niggas know exactly who they foolin with

And all this thinkin got me up right now

When I didn’t know my whole world would turn upside down

College was something different man

I had to go and do it

Since every other male inside my family was truant I had to break the cycle

Its something I’ve been known for doing

Finally had a dream and made a choice to go peruse it

I came into a school and once again i was the newest

Mu hobby introduced me to a body full of students

There were rappers and producers

Everybody makin music

But plenty never knew what it takes to really do it

Till I met this one kid whos passion was the truest

As soon as he heard me rap we made a pact and stuck to it

Hit the dorm room after class tryna record tunes

Before soon these two dudes performing for the whole school

And every loan was screaming we want debt

And at the end of each semester get that refund check

Spend it all at once, I hit the mall and I stunt

I guess i finally got the nerve to cop whatever i want

Even though I'm broke, that don’t matter I was still upper echelon

Chefing up the rhyming like a five star restaurant

Passing my pajamas no passion for the drama

Started smoking marijuana and still passing with the honors

Soon to be a scholar imma graduate with income

They promised me a job but ain't do shit to help me get one

21 and black with a bachelors was the outcome

And I wish I woulda known that i woulda been fine without one

I got a job now in the city of dreams

Working with different artists but it ain't what it seems

Slaving behind the scenes and setting up their rehearsals

This industry ain't real as I thought its all commercial

And this side of the fence ain’t where I belong

Its been taking all my time man these albums are long

But little did I know it was all part of the plan

Because a year later we did our first show as a band

And now we on, a long way from touring in vans

12 deep (cold sheets and ensuring a can?)

Over cooking, with no need to oil the pan

I owe my success to yall the most loyal of fans

So don't believe the rumors that may fly through the air

Cuz right now I'm telling all the buyers beware

Of the T-M-Zs, the tabloids and the media
