The war is over and I'm home

Warrior no longer, and I'm home

But they look at me as if I were the Devil on the roam

And the Devil has no business coming home

Lasers in my fingers for the war

Metal in my body for the war

More weapons than a single man has ever been before

And I've sworn I'll never use them anymore

They'd praise me as a hero if I'd died

They'd grieve and they would miss me if I'd died

But when I pass, they shy away, their smiling faces lie

Their smiles reflect the terror in their eyes

They blame me for the blood that I have spilled

They blame me for the blood I'll never spill

They made me what I am and they are frightened of me still

For they know that they created me to kill

The war is over and I'm home

Warrior no longer, and I'm home

But they look at me as if I were the Devil on the roam

And the Devil has no business coming home
