The Hungerford footpath is empty and the London Eye's at a stop

The trains have stopped running, the city is sleeping, but clearly I'm not

I walk one foot in front of the other, wondering what else I can discover

Things I've never seen before and places that I've been before

Till I can close my eyes and safely sleep

The 1:30 rain is insistent as I make my way through the lights

I eavesdrop on the first stranger that I see to make sure that I don't get in a fight

I'm finding a destination close to the vital train station

Places that I've walked through in a lens that feels so brand new

There's something so liberating about how truly empty it is
