Yo

Seriously, what year is it?

It’s been one of those weeks

Let me tell you about it…

[Verse]

I see all of this gender disparity

It’s 2023, that’s the thought that is scaring me

Unaware or are we just lacking in clarity?

Not sure, but this way of thinking’s outdated, verily

It's so unfair to see women bursting in ability

Trying to talk in meetings it's an act of futility

But if we have the will and the lack of senility

The belief, the kindness, and, of course, the civility

We got the utility to enable a change in mentality

Of any kind of difference between genders, it's a fallacy

And еvery time I hear it, I cringе at the analyses

We’re here in California, your brain’s in Tallahassee

But in reality when you go and talk over a lady

You’re really speaking out from under them, isn’t it shady?

Can’t be open and honest without someone else degrading

Or make a comment about how their truth is shaming?

And I’m not lazy, my rhyme scheme is meant to be unbalanced

It’s a metaphor for the way I see the female challenge

So sick of hearing men say “I’m being disadvantaged

Where’s my Men in Tech?”, fool, that’s the whole damn planet…
