Euphemia - Intellectual

Lelouch/Zero is looking into the war-ridden (“burning”) sky, seeing the chaos that has come of his hopes of saving the Japanese from Brittania. He remembers the dreams he had of taking down the Empire, and he also remembers all those who lost their lives for such a cause.

His power, Geass, is starting to tumble out of control, and his hatred of Brittania combined with that is starting to possess him.

Lelouch/Zero accidentaly started the genocide when he jokingly asked Euphemia to kill all 11’s (Japanese people in Code Geass)

The genocide caused by his own words resulted in the Japanese people fighting back to the empire of Brittania, thus causing a revolution.

Euphemia, the woman this song is about, ends up being forced to attempt to kill all Japanese people, resulting in a genocide.

Euphemia nearly dies when Lelouch/Zero shoots her to stop her from killing everyone, she survives the initial shot but later dies in Suzaku’s arms.

“It is the end” in Japanese

Perhaps the best description of the situation in the song; the main character of Code Geass (Lelouch) has the power to make people do his bidding as they “look into his eye.”

At one point in the anime, Lelouch speaks with his cousin, Euphemia, who is a lady of power. Lelouch’s Geass activates without warning, and when he tells her to “kill all the Japanese people,” she then attempts this because of the Geass' control over her. Due to the political situation, many people died in the following scenes.
