We're burning down

Where are we going and will it be better than where we've been

A generation of kids wouldn't think of the jetsons

Listen as that sets in that most have lost that picture

Why is every future we envision post apocalyptic

Those without a pot to piss in been praying that god’ll fix it

But whichever god existed it seems that it's not his mission

We know it is dark as shit I try to hope the fog will lift

But I been looking at the options thinking nope there's not a differencе

So I soak in my decisions thinking do they evеn matter

Wanna climb in my position but I really need a ladder

Someone's pockets getting fatter so they buying bigger pants

While I'm patient at the bottom just tryna get a chance

I'm told nobody wants my political stance

Take the little fans I have and ittl split em in half

But this isn't a matter of republican or democrat

Wherever you stand our futures been written in sand

We're burning down

Every generation says the next is gonna end us

But eventually it seems that probabilities tremendous

Endlessly senseless kids feeling they friendless

Heading to class strapped blastin they friends list

Not to mention taking their own lives

Thinking they ain't making the cut with or with no knives

It's showtime enough just sending your thoughts and prayers

Need to stop and care but instead we watch and we stare

It's a lot to bare and honestly wearing me down

Watching it burn hoping the firemen carry me out

But there's no bailing me out no oxygen offered to me

It's all for the fire to keep I got only toxins to breath

Promises replaced with obstacles you monsters to me

Until you do something demonstrable you not fit to lead

And it's starting to feel like the only option to me

To mosh in the street, rise up and march to the beat

And let him know that if he's not ready to clean his house up
