I used to write when I felt like what I thought was worth saying
Lately, I have nothing to offer but my confusion
So I guess that I'll lay out on the table what I think about
Hell, I know that I'm good and able
You know, I want to write to get my mind untangled
If I can lace my thoughts together, I'll feel less unstable
When I was younger, I tried to define myself and the world around me too
Now I know that's something I can't do
And all I know is that I don't know anything
I don't know anything, I don't know anything
Every moment, everything is everchanging
I don't know anything, I don't know anything
Lack of certainty: let it be liberating
Lately, I wake up in the night with a pit of fear in my stomach
Myself and everyone that I love will someday cease to exist
So why are we here? What is the purpose
If all of this will someday be gone and will be meaningless?
I look around my room; I feel disconnected
Who am I? What are these things? What are these many moments?
When I was younger, I tried to define myself and the world around me too
Now I know that's something I can't do
And all I know is that I don't know anything
I don't know anything, I don't know anything
Every moment, everything is everchanging
I don't know anything, I don't know anything
Lack of certainty: let it be liberating
It's the time of year I like; the miniature daisies are growing outside
We're free to choose the meaning in our lives, and when we're finished and frozen in time
I think our unity, the genuine smiles and laughter
Though it will disintegrate, I think it will have mattered
This time of year, somewhat of a rebirth
Leaves fall from the trees, we fall from our past to our future
When I was younger, I tried to define myself and the world around me too
Now I know that's something I can't do
And all I know is that I don't know anything
I don't know anything, I don't know anything
Every moment, everything is everchanging
I don't know anything, I don't know anything
Lack of certainty: let it be liberating
