I've been told that I've changed for the better

But the growing pains sting

On the outside, the problems I've weathered

Seem to pass all the same

But I haven't grown quite as much as I might be showing

My confidence stands on attention they show me

Some days, I'll kill it but it might kill me

If the question never leaves

Am I the archetype

Or cheap imitation?

What if I sacrifice

When I should have listened?

There's a sweet, sweet light in the corner

But I can't tell

So, I still ask myself

Am I the archetype

Or not quite enough?

I can see that the continent's sliding

But my day-to-day's rough

When can all of the conversation

Turn away from the mud?

Cuz I couldn't care any less if you paid me to bother

My god complex says if it's good then it's proper

But I'm not in Heaven and neither are you

So, for now, I'll have to do

Am I the archetype

Or cheap imitation?

What if I sacrifice

When I should have listened?

There's a sweet, sweet light in the corner

But I can't tell

So, I still ask myself

Am I the archetype

Or not quite enough?

Am I the archetype

Or cheap imitation?

What if I sacrifice

When I should have listened?

There's a sweet, sweet light in the corner

But I can't tell

So, I still ask myself

Am I the archetype

Or not quite enough?
