[Verse 1]

Pitch black dark trying to look into my future

Wishing I was high ‘cause I assumed it was cooler

Same color, can’t tell the sky from the water

My eyes working harder

Mind going farther

Time’s no bother

I’ll get home when I get home

Ready, set, go: to mentally let go

Tall grass, dirt path, and that seaside smell

Messing around crazy, I grew up at Shells

Shells is a levy with a BMX park

Just walk around and talk when it gets dark

Always start a conversation totally jokingly

Then eventually vent to me openly

Brown grass is spread like a plate of spaghetti

Never rain down so it stayed brown every day wow

The place shaped us like putty

JBL handheld play some Kid Cudi

Only a block away from where my Grandparents live

Developed under the sun got my tan hairy skin

Vibing with friends inside of banned areas

Staring ‘cross the bay on the land barriers

Only a block away from where my Grandparents live

Developed under the sun got my tan hairy skin

Vibing with friends inside of banned areas

Staring ‘cross the bay on the land barriers

[Verse 2]

Spent last high school years in Foster City

Often sitting in the Metro Shopping Center chilling

Thankful for all the important stuff it fostered in me

Like a foster parent when I got bored of Belmont

Every week after school bike with my helmet

Down Ralston to Redwood Shores or Oracle

Then ride the Bay Trail feeling tortoise slow

Stop at Shells isn’t it pretty and adorable

A door to my soul, sorta pretty cold

An ode that I wrote and recorded from my phone

As I think into the past, well, it’s all pastels kept in a capsule, that’s Shells
